Hey Howdy Hey Emily and welcome to planDisney!
There is so much anticipation and excitement around the big 60-day mark for any trip to Walt Disney World Resort for
Advanced Dining Reservations and many options from
Disney's Enchanting Extras Collection. It sounds like you had your plans all set but things did not work out quite as expected. Not to worry Emily, you've got a friend in me to help you through this process and give you the best shot at getting these reservations. Let's get this wagon train a-movin' and get you some answers!
As a review, the rule for dining reservations is that your window opens 60-days from your date of arrival plus 10. So not only will you be able to make reservations on the first day of your trip, but also 10 days in the future as well. This will be key moving forward. Dining reservations usually open up starting at 6:00 AM EST at that mark as well with your best chances of getting reservations either online or through the
My Disney Experience app.
The biggest tip I can share with you is to try and stack your "must-do" dining reservations towards the end of your trip as fewer people will have access to these dates. Try and schedule your reservations for off times such as breakfast at 11:00 or dinner at 4:00 for improved chances with very high-demand experiences. I will share that no matter what, you can do everything right but still fall short of scoring your reservations.
Not to worry, you still have some options. What I would encourage you to do, is to keep checking the app or online as plans change and people cancel their reservations. Do this a couple of times per day to see if you can get a reservation that someone may cancel.
The other option you will have with
Space 220 Restaurant in EPCOT is looking at both the Restaurant experience as well as the
Space 220 Lounge. They both do encourage reservations but some walk-up spots may become available as well. You might be able to join the
walk-up list through the My Disney Experience app when you are in EPCOT that day. You can also feel free to check at the Host Stand when you arrive to see if there are any spots open. Again, during the off-times for eating you may catch a walk-up list spot as these times are less popular meal times.
Keep trying and my fingers are crossed you will get the chance to dine among the stars on your next trip. Please feel free to reach out and let us know if you have any further questions, we would be happy to help!
Ride like the wind,
Nick
