So, I tried to buy the genie plus service at 12:00 am, but it kept declining both my credit card and debit card. Frustrated, I went to bed to try and use someone else’s in the morning. Then I find out that the Genie plus service is sold out. What do I do?

    Hey there, Alex!

Thanks for coming to planDisney with your question. I'm so sorry to hear you had trouble purchasing Disney Genie+ Service for your visit today. I experienced something similar a few years back so I can understand your frustration.

When visiting with my daughter in 2022 we couldn't get past the initial purchase screen for Genie+. I wasn't sure if there was an issue with my phone or the My Disney Experience Mobile App so I went to my Disney Resort Collection hotel's Front Desk for assistance. It seems there was a technical glitch with the app but they were able to complete the purchase for me on their computers. I realize this doesn't help you now, but keep this in mind if you run into any trouble the next time you try to purchase. You'll need to have your credit or debit card present with you when visiting the Front Desk. I'd actually recommend stopping by to see them or visiting with a member of the Guest Experience Team, stationed under blue umbrellas in the parks, to look into what might have caused the issue.

At this time of my writing, I see that both EPCOT and Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park still show remaining availability for Genie+ today. Unfortunately, Magic Kingdom Park, Disney's Hollywood Studios, and Multiple Parks for guests with Park Hopper Option tickets are sold out at this time. You are welcome to visit Guest Relations located at the front of the theme park to share your experience and see if anything can be done. I can't guarantee that they will be able to offer any solutions or accommodations but it's still worth letting them know about your experience. Perhaps they can correct any issues on your account or offer suggestions for completing the purchase on your next visit.

When my family visited Walt Disney World Resort during spring break last year, we opted to skip the purchase of Genie+ and go for the attractions with the lowest standby waits. We didn't get to experience every single attraction, but because we got an early start each morning and stayed until park closing we were still able to accomplish a lot without the additional cost. We passed the time in line playing games in the Play Disney Parks App, which ended up being a lot of fun. I hope you'll be able to do the same during your visit.

Alex, if we can answer any additional questions please come back and let us know. Wishing you an extra sprinkle of magic and pixie dust during the remainder of your vacation.

    Magic and memories,
    Amy
