Hi Holly! Thanks for bringing your question to planDisney.
Advanced
dining reservations do typically open at 60 days out, although they can open earlier or later, depending on the location and current circumstances. Trader Sam's Enchanted Tiki Bar is an incredibly popular location at
Disneyland Resort in
Disneyland Hotel overlooking the iconic pool. It's immersive and interactive and has some of the tastiest drinks available on the Disneyland Resort property. It's always a blast and one of my family's favorites! So, I'm not entirely surprised you ran into reservations being full, especially if you were selecting for a popular time of year when attendance is higher. There are a few dining locations that are always just a little trickier to secure a spot at, and in my experience, Trader Sam's Enchanted Tiki Bar is one of them.
Never fear! I have some suggestions for hopefully getting in during your visit. First, keep checking. People's plans change and as people cancel their reservations, availability changes too. It is possible to grab your coveted reservation even a day before. Diligence can really pay off! Maybe set a reminder on your mobile device to check every day. Fingers crossed you'll luck into something soon with a little Pixie Dust.
The other option available to you is the Mobile Dine Walk-Up. Subject to availability, you can add your party to the walk-up list at the restaurant using the Disneyland mobile app. To do this, pull up the map on the app and switch from "Attractions" to "Dining" at the top. Locate the restaurant on the map and click the icon that looks like a mobile device with a fork and knife. Select "Trader Sam's Enchanted Tiki Bar." Among your choices, you should see the option to "Join Walk-Up List." It's that easy!
I hope you and your group get to experience the fun of Trader Sam's Enchanted Tiki Bar. I love the Poke Bowl and Hawaiian Platter. My husband's go-to is Tonkotsu Ramen, and my boys really like the Chicken Teriyaki Bowl. All the drinks are delicious, so go with whatever sounds like a tropical dream to you.
Hope this helps.
