Ahoy there, Diane! I love that you’re already thinking ahead about your upcoming cruise this December. I’m happy to put on my mouse detective hat to help clear up the mystery together so you know what’s going on with your reservation.
Prepaying gratuities is a wonderful way to make sure the amazing Cast Members are taken care of while keeping things stress-free so you can simply focus on the fun once you step onboard. In some cases, the ability to add prepaid gratuities online is limited. For example, if you’ve booked a Concierge stateroom or a Guaranteed Stateroom with Restrictions, the online option won’t be available. Likewise, if you booked your sailing through a Travel Agent, you’ll need to work directly with them to add prepaid gratuities or make adjustments to your reservation.
If you booked your cruise directly with Disney Cruise Line and you’re still having trouble, I recommend using the
chat feature on the DCL website or giving them a quick call. A helpful Cast Member can check your specific reservation and walk you through your options. Even if you don’t prepay, gratuities can still be added directly to your stateroom folio onboard. You’ll have until about three days before your sail date to prepay if you prefer, so you’ve got plenty of time to sort it out before your vacation begins.
Speaking of steps you want to take before embarkation day, I recommend downloading the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator app. You’ll be able to do everything from book Port Adventure to check showtimes. It’s also my favorite way to chat onboard with both my sailing crew and the new friends I make while traveling across the big blue. You can also check out this handy
packing list to check off everything you’ll want to bring in your suitcase.
So, Diane, rest assured: Mickey and his pals won’t let this stand between you and your magical voyage! Whether you prepay in advance or simply settle your gratuities onboard, Disney helps make the process smooth and easy. If you need help with any other Mouseketools or have another question, my
planDisney pals and I will be happy to lend a hand again!
Bon voyage,
Sami
