Hi there, John! Welcome to planDisney.
Your Walt Disney World Resort vacation will be here before you know it! I hope you'll have a chance to try some of the yummy limited-time
50th Anniversary treats during your visit. One of my family's favorites is the Glimmer and Shimmer Blondie available at
Fairfax Fare in Disney's Hollywood Studios.
I have seen Guests in the parks using trekking poles from time to time, and they are not on the list of
prohibited items, but I wanted to make sure I was providing you with the most up-to-date information, so I just got off the phone with
Disability Services. A Cast Member let me know that at the discretion of security, trekking poles are permitted as mobility devices. When you go through the security screening area, your trekking poles can be tagged as a mobility aid. For your convenience, I have included this
information for Guests with mobility disabilities, where you can click on links to show a list of attractions where your wife may remain in her scooter, and which attractions she may need to transfer to a wheelchair and then to the ride vehicle. A Cast Member at the entrance to each attraction can let you know what the process is at that particular location as well.
I am wishing you and your wife a wonderful visit! Please let us know if you have any additional questions. We are always happy to help.
