Seasons Greetings, Marianne! I can think of no better way to get in the holiday spirit than being at
Walt Disney World Resort when it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas.
I was thrilled to be at the Most Magical Place on Earth during the most wonderful time of the year last week. With the start of
Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party and
Disney Jollywood Nights, Walt Disney World was hauling out the holly and decking the halls.
I know
Disney's Wilderness Lodge is stunning year-round and absolutely breath-taking during the holidays. I spoke with a Cast Member, hoping to get a definitive answer for you. We learned the Christmas tree has yet to make its debut. It
may be up by Thanksgiving Day. Sometimes, the elves work as hard as possible, but the only deadline they promise to keep is to Santa on Christmas Eve.
While Wilderness Lodge may not be ready in time for your trip, several Christmas spectaculars are in season. One of my favorites is the gingerbread masterpiece at
Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. Hopping off the
Disney Monorail on the way to
Magic Kingdom Park is an easy and worthwhile stop. Just walking in the resort smells like the holidays, and the house is a marvel.
Have you heard of the
Christmas Tree Stroll at Disney Springs? There is a Star Wars tree that has a surprise for people wearing a MagicBand+. I have no idea what this is, but I am intrigued. May the Force be with us all! Seeing my favorite stories and characters come to life in seasonal displays is a winter wonderland, even in the warm Florida sun.
I know this is not the best news, but I hope all the wonder that surrounds you helps your heart be light and your troubles out of sight.
Happy Holly-Days!
Jana
