Jambo, Whitney! Thanks for stopping by planDisney with your question today! The countdown to your magical vacation is ticking away, and I know how excited you must be to visit the Most Magical Place on Earth in just a few more weeks!
Whitney, the
Tree of Life Awakenings at
Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park are one of the ways the park's beauty is illuminated after sunset! I also love to visit
Pandora - The World of Avatar to see its bioluminescent beauty come to life after dark; while this area of the theme park is always stunning, it's even more magical at night!
In researching the schedule for the Tree of Life Awakenings, at this time, there are no specific showtimes posted past January 4 on the Walt Disney World website, which has a posted showtime of 6:20 PM for most nights that the park is scheduled to close for 8 PM. During the week you will be visiting, Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park is currently scheduled to close at 6 PM most nights, so while this does not align with the current showtimes, I think there's still a chance the show will happen as it is advertised to take place at dusk and occur every 10 minutes until park closing. With an earlier sunset time during the month of January, it's possible the show will begin just before the park closes. My best advice would be to keep an eye on the
Tree of Life Awakenings page for schedule updates, especially as the park transitions to a 6 PM closing time in the next week. This will give you an indication of whether the show will continue to be offered so you can plan accordingly.
Another tip I can offer you is that
Extended Evening Theme Park Hours are scheduled during the week of your visit on January 29, meaning the park will stay open for guests staying at a Disney Deluxe Resort, Disney Deluxe Villa Resort, or other select hotels for an extra two hours. While you would need to be staying at a qualifying resort to experience any attractions during this time, it's likely the Tree of Life Awakenings would be showing on this night, and all guests would have the opportunity to view the show before exiting the park.
Whitney, one other
exciting announcement about this nighttime offering is that it now features a segment highlighting music and projections from the recently released film
Mufasa: The Lion King. This limited-time offering is one more reason to add the Tree of Life Awakenings to your list for your upcoming visit!
I hope this helps, Whitney, and that you will have a chance to experience this show during your visit! If you have any other questions before your visit, you're always welcome here at
planDisney! We hope to see you again real soon!
Kwaherini (it means goodbye!),
Alison
