What treat should I try on my next trip?

    Bonjour, Michael.

It is with deepest pride and greatest pleasure that we welcome you to planDisney today! You have come to the right place for advice on the best Walt Disney World Resort snacks. After all, my fellow Panelists and I agree that half of the fun on a magical vacation is the food (preferably Mickey-shaped). I have tried many treats and eats over the past 13 years, but these are my must-have snacks on each trip.

Magic Kingdom Park: There’s nothing tastier than the Corn Dog Nuggets over at Casey’s Corner on Main Street, U.S.A. I prefer to order two sides of cheese sauce to dip both my fries and corn dog nuggets in. I know that sounds strange, but trust me - it’s so tasty! I recently discovered the Cheeseburger Spring Rolls near the entrance to Adventureland, and let me tell you, they taste just like a delicious, juicy cheeseburger! If you get to the parks early enough, The Lunching Pad in Tomorrowland offers a new breakfast menu that includes Sticky Bubble Bread (cinnamon bread with caramel sauce) and a Breakfast Bowl (potato barrels, an omelet, and chili con carne queso). I am not a morning person by any stretch of the imagination, but both of these items are worth getting to the parks early for.

EPCOT: Listen, we all know that the EPCOT Festival food items are the bee’s knees, and I encourage you to try as many items as you can, but there are some year-round bites that I highly recommend. My all-time favorite treat at Walt Disney World is the Pretzel Bread Pudding from Sommerfest in the Germany Pavilion in World Showcase. It’s the perfect balance of salty and sweet, but you may need to share it with a friend (though you probably will want to keep it all to yourself). I recently discovered the Cheese Pizza Roll at Sunshine Seasons and instantly loved it. I also find myself back at Refreshment Port in the Canada Pavilion for some Traditional Poutine (fries, cheese curds, and gravy = perfection).

Disney’s Hollywood Studios: Okay, so I know I said the Pretzel Bread Pudding is my all-time favorite treat, but it might just have to be tied with the Fried Herb and Garlic Cheese at 50’s Prime Time Café. They deep fry a wheel of garlic-flavored Boursin cheese and serve it alongside toasted bread, fruit, and raspberry sauce. Do not sleep on this one!

Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park: My tried and true go-to snack here is Mr. Kamal’s Seasoned Fries at Mr. Kamal’s. They are the best fry on property, in my opinion, thanks to the generous amount of seasoning.

Resorts: I highly recommend the onion rings at Steakhouse 71 in Disney’s Contemporary Resort or the appetizers at Tambu Lounge in Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort (available after 4:00 p.m.).

Michael, I hope this information helps get your appetite going. Know you are always welcome to put our service to the test again here at planDisney if you think of more questions before your magical getaway.

    Happy snacking,
    Alyssa
