I would like to treat my daughter (7) to a birthday dinner while on vacation in June. However, I don't want to do it at a character meal. Could you recommend a table service restaurant that would make her birthday meal a fun event?

Hi, Carol! If you want a fun restaurant that is inside a theme park, then I think the 50's Prime Time Cafe at Hollywood Studios would be a fun way to celebrate!   There is some fun interaction between the servers and the guests and there atmosphere is great.

If you prefer to dine at a resort, then try Whispering Canyon inside Wilderness Lodge (just a short boat ride from the Magic Kingdom.)   The food is really good and there is just enough fun and silliness (without going over the top) to make this a memorable meal.   I'm taking my son to WDW for his 7th birthday and Whispering Canyon is where he picked for his special dinner!

For either location, I highly recommend Advance Dining Reservations which can be made by calling (407)WDW-DINE.   Let them know you are celebrating a very special birthday!   Please wish your princess a Happy Birthday from all of us here at the Moms Panel!

Meet the Panelist: Cathy, Ohio

Hi, I'm Cathy from Cleveland. I love to travel, especially in the winter to escape the snow and cold of Ohio! My husband and 2 kids share my enthusiasm for travel, so we enjoy our adventures together whether it is hiking at a National Park, sailing on a Disney Cruise Ship, or going to Walt Disney World which is our home away from home. My husband proposed to me in front of Cinderella Castle and we have not stopped visiting ever since! It's a blast helping guests here at planDisney!
