Travelling with my 16yr olds and there may be times we are not all together. I want to add a credit card on their MDE profile so they can use mobile ordering and charge to my card. I don't see adding a cc on their profile as an option. Can I do this?

Hello, Denice! I am so excited to see that your trip to Walt Disney World is very quickly approaching. I bet you are getting so excited!

Denice, my daughter is 14 years old and I know just how nice it is to let them go up and get their own beverages or snacks now that they are a bit older. Just a few weeks ago we were at the Taste of Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival enjoying all of the snacks and treats from the outdoor kitchens. We were there on a weekend and it was pretty busy so I stood waiting in one line and my daughter stood in another so we could get our food faster and eat it together. I think you will be happy to know that your kids will be able to use their MagicBands, just like my daughter did, to purchase things around Walt Disney World. When you complete the online check-in, there is a spot to add a credit card for charging privileges. This automatically links your credit card to everyone's MagicBand that is staying in the room with you. Now, if you'd like for different MagicBands to be associated with different credit cards (say two different households staying in the same room) you can do this too but you have to visit the front desk at the Walt Disney World Resort Hotel that you are staying at when you arrive to do so. You can also turn charging privileges off certain MagicBands if you'd like but you also need to visit the front desk to do this as well. When you link your credit card during the online check-in process, you'll need to pick a pin number that everyone will use to make the purchases. When your kids go to buy something, they'll simply scan their MagicBand, enter the pin and be good to go. If you want to keep tabs on what is being spent between your party while on your vacation, just go to the MyDisneyExperience app on your smartphone. Visit the "My Plans" section of the app and click on your Disney Resort Hotel reservation. Then you should see an option to "View Charges" and it should all be itemized out for you there. If you'd like to pay with a Disney gift card for some of the charges, you can visit the front desk during your stay and they will be more than happy to take care of this for you.

Letting older kids charge things to their MagicBand is so convenient and something I personally love! It's so much better than keeping up with cash and change and all of that. I know my daughter also really loves the ease of it too and I am sure your kids will agree! If you have any other questions before your trip, I am happy to help

    Have fun!

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
