We are travelling with a 3 yr old and 1 yr old. I see the long list if preschooler rides. Has anyone ever done an itinerary based on a map of what ride to do first, second, etc. thanks for your help! :)

    Hi, Susan!

Thanks for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your great question. Your little ones are going to have so much fun exploring the Disneyland Resort this spring. As a parent, there’s nothing quite like watching the joy and wonder on your children’s faces as they discover the Disney magic!

I have a 3-year-old myself, and we usually base our itinerary on his favorite rides and the best time of day to visit each land. It’s always a good idea to plan on arriving as close to park opening as possible and taking advantage of early theme park entry if available. You can fit so many must-do attractions into that first hour before the park is open to the general public!

I typically recommend going to Fantasyland first because wait times steadily increase as the day goes on, especially for the most popular attractions, and FASTPASS tickets are not offered. Ride Peter Pan’s Flight, Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride, Dumbo the Flying Elephant, Storybook Land Canal Boats, Casey Jr. Circus Train, Alice in Wonderland and any others your kids are interested in and then head to “it’s a small world.”
In Tomorrowland, we ride Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters and hop on the Disneyland Railroad for a train ride to New Orleans Square. Here we hit Pirates of the Caribbean and then Jungle Cruise, which is in the adjacent Adventureland.

There are other attractions my son enjoys that don’t usually have long wait times, like The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh and the Mark Twain River Boat, so we work those into our day whenever it’s convenient.

I hope this helps, Susan, and that you and your kids have a perfectly pixie-dusted visit to The Happiest Place on Earth! Please visit me again with more questions as your planning continues.

    Wishing you magic,
