Hi Erin! Welcome back to planDisney!
You have come to the perfect place to get answers to your Walt Disney World Resort questions! Two of my favorite things about vacationing there are the dining and transportation options around the Resort. Walt Disney himself was known for placing a high level of importance on having the most exciting and innovative ways to get from place to place. You can hop on a boat, bus, monorail, or even fly through the sky on the Disney Skyliner to get to your destination. Depending on where you stay, each of these may be available to you throughout your entire stay!
One of the best things about staying at Disney's Wilderness Lodge is you have direct boat access to the Magic Kingdom. There is nothing that beats heading out of your resort room in the morning and heading down to the docks to enjoy a leisurely ride to the park. While getting to the parks is a breeze, getting from resort to resort is a bit trickier. To get to Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa from Disney's Wilderness Lodge via boat, you'll need to head over to the Magic Kingdom and then choose one of the following options:
- Transfer to another boat that will take you to the resort.
- Hop on the resort monorail and take it to the Grand Floridian stop.
- Take a scenic stroll on the walking path to get to your dining reservation.
Since there are multiple steps to make it to your dining reservation, I would suggest giving yourself about 45 minutes to one hour to make it to the Grand Floridian Resort. Each boat ride will take about 15 minutes in-transit time, but you also have to include the time it takes to load/unload passengers and also the time you will wait for the boat to arrive. If you find yourself running a bit behind, there is no reason to stress. Many dining locations at Walt Disney World will give you a 15 minute grace period to check-in for your reservation.
You have picked a great resort to dine at during your stay. Between
Cítricos and
Narcoossee's, it's hard to pick a date-night favorite at this resort.
Grand Floridian Cafe is another perfect place for any meal of the day, but definitely try out their breakfast if you can find some time for it. You also have some terrific options at your resort as well.
Storybook Dining at Artist Point with Snow White is a wonderful character meal that not only has amazing food but is themed to perfection.
Erin, I hope you have a magical time on your upcoming visit! Enjoy being a part of the
World's Most Magical Celebration!
See ya real soon!
