We are travelling to WDW June 2013 with our 3 kids on DVC pts and are staying at AKV for 7 nights and BCV for 3 nights. I know that Disney will move our bags but what about dining plans? Do we need one plan for each location? Any fun tips for each resort?

    Hi Jennifer,

My family loves both Disney's Beach Club Villas and Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas!

You will need to have a dining plan for each location. This means that you will have two dining plans. When you check out of the first resort, be sure not to close your account.  You will be able to use up the remaining entitlements on that plan for the rest of the day that you switch resorts. This means that for the day where you are switching resorts you may have two dining plans running concurrently, so be sure to use the entitlements from the first resort first. If you have used up the entitlements from the first resort on the day that you switch resorts, you will need to check into the second resort in order to get your new set of dining entitlements.

There are so many fun things to do at each resort! At Disney's Beach Club Villas, my family enjoys the nightly campfire and movies on the beach. Take advantage of Stormalong Bay, the amazing pool complex , complete with a pirate ship water slide and portions of the pool with sand. At Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas, our main focus is the animals. If you have a savanna view room, head out to your balcony - you never know when a giraffe or warthog will wander by!  It's also fun at night to head over to Jambo House and use the night vision goggles to view animals on Arusha Rock. We have enjoyed listening to the enchanting storytellers nightly by the campfire. For all of these activities, please consult the guide that you are given upon check-in at each resort, as times and offerings are subject to change.

I must share with you my daughter's opinion on the most important thing to do at each of these resorts. At Disney's Beach Club Villas, she says that you must visit Beaches and Cream Soda Shop for some wonderful ice cream. At Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas, she suggests dining at Boma for the fabulous desserts. I agree with these recommendations! Have a sweet vacation!
