Will be travelling to WDW January 2012-Feb with a 3yo and 1yo. Would a standard room be sufficient or should we consider the deluxe villas? We want to get the best deal and have some wiggle room because both girls' birthdays will be celebrated on the trip.

    HI Katherine!

Happy Birthday to your girls! How fun to spend their special days at Disney!

Well, my first thought is, "Yes! Consider the Deluxe Villas!" They are gorgeous! But, they are quite a bit more expensive than a standard room.

On our last vacation, my kids were 4 and turning 2. We stayed at the All Star Movies Resort. It was just a basic room--2 barely queen sized beds and just enough room to squeeze the pack-n-play by the front window.

But it wasn't as hard as we thought. It got kinda crowded in there toward the end of the vacation (we were there 14 days!). And there wasn't any watching TV or staying up past the kids. All 4 of us went to bed at the exact same time. (Which was kinda nice because we were all exhausted!)

Our next vacation, we will be doing a Moderate resort just for a little extra breathing room--my son will be 3 then. *whew* He needs room to run! And some of the standard rooms in the Deluxe resorts have lots of extra room! I stayed at the Beach Club with 2 beds in one room and there were at least 2 spots the pack-n-play would have fit with ease!

But if you can't make yourself pay for the Deluxe Villas, don't think you will be unhappy in a standard room. You won't! It will still be magical--and you'll have LOTS of family time! :)
