I will be travelling to WDW in Dec., and I will be staying at Animal Kingdom. Is there any restaurant there you would highly recommend. I have a 3year old and a 22 month old travelling with hubby and me and we have the dining plan and a 4 day park hopper.

    Karina:

I'm a BIG fan of Sanaa at the Animal Kingdom's Kidani Village. The restaurant offers seating that looks out into the Savannah and you'll never know what animals you'll get to enjoy from anteaters to zebra. The menu can seem a bit adventurous, so if you're intimidated, ask your waiter for suggestions that match your taste. I have found them to be some of the most informed wait-staff on property. Personally, I recommend the bread service and the lamb shank. The kids have the opportunity to try shrimp or chicken but if they're picky, you have the usual pizza and cheeseburger fare to offer them.

In December, I'd recommend making the first-available dinner reservation at 5 p.m. not only to ensure that your children are happy and awake to enjoy the animals but also so the sun is still up to see them. Also, arrive about 15 minutes early to ask for a window table. If you're unable to get one, though, just visit the observation deck to view the animals. If you're staying at Animal Kingdom Lodge (connected but quite a walk from the village), you can ask for a shuttle to take you to the lodge so that you don't have to make the 10-minute walk with the little ones.

    Wishing y'all a magical vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
