We will be travelling to WDW in April 2013 to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary with a large group of friends. Is there a way to have a dinner for everyone, aside from reservations for a particular restaurant? Thanks.

    Hi Eric,

Congratulations on your upcoming anniversary!  That's so exciting!

I would heartily encourage you to make a dinner reservation for your large group in April.  Last month I traveled to Walt Disney World with a group of twenty-two. We had an amazing and fun dinner together at 'Ohana in Disney's Polynesian Resort while we were there.  It would have been nearly impossible to find seating at an on-property restaurant for that many people without advance dining reservations.  In fact, I called (407) WDW-DINE exactly 180 days before our arrival to make that reservation.  It can be difficult to make reservations for such large parties if you wait much beyond the date when the 180 day reservation window opens.  I suggest you get your travel party together soon to decide where you'd like to dine.  You can always cancel your reservations as little as 24 hours in advance for most table service restaurants but finding a place to dine with that many people at the last minute could pose a daunting challenge.

Of course, if you're looking for a very casual dinner, your group could always plan to dine at a quick service restaurant.  Perhaps you could enjoy a lovely casual dinner poolside at your resort.  Where will you be staying in April?  You may also want to contact the manager at your Disney resort to see if there is a room on property that you could reserve.  Perhaps a private dinner could be catered there.  It is certainly worth exploring the options available to you at your home resort.

Let us know (via follow-up question) if you need more suggestions.  We're very eager to help you plan a truly magical anniversary celebration.

    Best wishes,
    Jill
