I will be travelling to Walt Disney world with my 3 year old and 10 month old. I'm looking at the resorts because I want one where travelling to parks MK and AK are easy and not to long for the kids. A resort fun for young ones. Thoughts?

    Hi Karine ~

It is always smart to plan ahead for a trip to Walt Disney World especially when you are traveling with young children.

When my boys were that age, we spent most of our time at the Magic Kingdom so it made more sense to stay at a resort along the monorail line. Traveling with little ones, my vote would go to the Polynesian Village Resort. This resort has a very relaxed feel to it. The rooms seem bigger and more comfortable. My boys enjoy going down to the path between the Polynesian Village Resort and the Grand Floridian Resort to have space to run without a lot of people around. They love the Volcano Pool but there are quiet pools if that is more your style. On the beach near the main pool, they have movies at night. If your kids are like mine, they really just like digging in the sand. You can also see the Electrical Water Pageant and Wishes from the beach or your room if you have a Magic Kingdom view.

We like the dining selections at the Polynesian Village Resort. 'Ohana is awesome for breakfast and dinner. For quick serve, Capt. Cook's has a nice selection including the famous Tonga Toast at breakfast and Dole Whips. We like being able to take our food outside to eat and relax. They also offer lots of activities including boat and bike rentals.

From the Polynesian Village Resort, it is about a 25 - 30 minute bus ride to Disney's Animal Kingdom. You could stay at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge or the Coronado Springs Resort which would put you closer to Animal Kingdom but you would have the 25 - 30 minute ride to the Magic Kingdom.

Another option is staying at a resort that is located more between Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom. In my humble opinion, I'd rather stay closest to the park we planned to spend the most time in during our vacation.
