Hello there! Welcome to our little trans-dimensional joyride, Kris. I’m Matt, your friendly planDisney Panelist. And while I'm not a paleontologist, I'll do my best to answer your question!
I know it can be disappointing when a beloved attraction closes to make way for a brand-new experience. And while it may not fully take the sting away, I got to see the model of the new land taking over DinoLand U.S.A. at last weekend's
D23: The Ultimate Fan Event, and it looks phenomenal. There will be 2 signature attractions in this area, one themed to
Encanto and one themed to
Indiana Jones. So hopefully, your family will be able to make some new memories full of joy and excitement in this new area when it opens!
At this time, we are not exactly sure when
DINOSAUR will close. While
the announcement was sure to mention that we'll have plenty of time to experience this ride one more time, construction is set to begin in the fall, with the land projected to open in 2027. So, in short, I cannot guarantee that it will be open for you in February 2025, but be sure to follow along with the
Disney Parks Blog for any announcements.
One experience that may be open when you visit
Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park next year is Zootopia: Better Together. This will be a reimagining of the experience inside the beautiful Tree of Life and is projected to open next winter. It'll be the perfect experience to get you hyped for
Zootopia 2, which is slated to open in theaters in November 2025.
Kris, I'm keeping my fingers crossed that you're "gonna make it" and get that dino on your next visit! If you have any other questions,
feel free to reach out!
Mission accomplished,
Matt
