We are travelling from the UK for our first holiday at Walt Disney World, we are very excited. We arrived on April 18th 2023 for 2 weeks and I would just like to check if Blizzard Beach will be back open by then? Many thanks

Hey there, hi there, Sharon! Welcome to planDisney! I'm so glad you've stopped by with such a great planning question.

Your countdown is dwindling, Sharon! Before you know it, you'll be arriving at Walt Disney World Resort, ready to begin your very first magical adventure at The Most Magical Place on Earth. Eeeek! How exciting! There is so much to do and see at Walt Disney World Resort, but splashing around the water parks has become one of my favorite things to do on a Disney holiday. It's the best way to stay cool while having a blast in the Florida sun, and it's just the perfect combination of a relaxing pool day and an oh-so-fun Disney day. Now, let's make sure that you have a soakin' good time on your upcoming holiday!

Unfortunately, Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park will be closing for refurbishment on March 19, 2023. But Hakuna Matata! It means "no worries!" Disney Parks Blog just announced that Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park will reopen on March 19, 2023, and will be open for splashing fun during your holiday.

My family and I absolutely love Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park. There is something for every age, height and thrill level. My daughter loves the giant Surf Pool, while floating down Castaway Creek is usually more my speed. We laugh until we cry when we ride Miss Adventure Falls, and we all have a blast everywhere in between. Last year, we rented a Beachcomber Shack to have extra shade, privacy and a home base to meet up and relax in between splashing, and it was practically perfect in every way. I can't wait for you to have such a wet and wild time!

One more tip, Sharon! Be sure to pack a park bag with a change of clothes for a dry, comfortable bus ride back to your Resort Hotel, sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat, and water shoes. Last trip, I walked around the water park barefoot, and my feet started to get a little tender by the end of the day. Have the BEST. DAY. EVER!

I hope this helps, Sharon, and I hope you have the most magical and memorable holiday ever! I know it will be. Please feel free to stop by any time with any planning questions you may have. You've got a friend in planDisney!

    See ya real soon,

    Mandy
