Hi, We are travelling with our two teens to WDW at the end of March 2012, and are staying at the Coronado Sprints resort. We are not renting a car while at the resort. If we leave the hotel property can we walk to other parts of WDW and restaurants?

Hi Carrie! I love the resort you chose, Coronado Springs, and hope you have a wonderful stay there as I have had in the past!

There is no need to rent a car during your Disney stay. Each resort will have busses that will take you wherever you wish to go whether it be a park or Downtown Disney. If you want to visit another resort you will just transfer at a park or Downtown Disney and it is quite easy.  The Walt Disney World property is very large and although when looking at a map it appears that you can be within walking distance to something, you really are not.  The only place you can walk to from Coronado Springs is the Blizzard Beach water park. This is a short walk down from the resort and there are sidewalks along the road.  To reach other locations for entertainment or dining you will want to use the bus system.

Busses run every 15-20 minutes from your resort and they are clearly marked at the bus stops when it is time to return home at the end of the day.  You can also enjoy a monorail or boat ride anywhere on property where this is the transportation that is offered. When booking dining reservations give yourself plenty of time so you are not stressed if a bus runs a tad late and make sure you leave no less then an hour ahead of another resort dining time. This will take longer then just heading to a park.
