will be travelling for 1st time without picking up magic bands at check-in (canadians). if i do the check-in online, will i just receive a text when the room is ready? like we can go straight to disney springs and will know when its ready? thanks

    Rebonjour Nicole,

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

I recently declined our MagicBands for our latest visit to Walt Disney World Resort and, when combined with Online Check-In, our arrival was absolutely seamless! Although I still recommend stopping off at your Walt Disney World Resort hotel when you arrive even if you’ve already checked in online (if only to drop off your luggage), you can absolutely choose to head straight to Disney Springs instead. In fact, it’s what we chose to do on the day that we changed Resorts during our latest stay.

The one caveat is that, because you’ll likely be travelling with a Canadian cell phone with a Canadian phone number, you won’t be able to receive a text when your room is ready. When do you online check-in, make sure you indicate that you’d prefer to receive an email notification that your room is ready, and you should be good to go!

    Have a Magical Day,

    Lynne
