We are travelling to Spain in August on the Disney Dream. On the day if arrival, if we do not want to go ashore will there still be a full range of activities available on board…..especially for children ?

Hello, Susan! Welcome aboard planDisney. I'm happy you sailed to us with your questions. My pals and I are happy to help!

I have good news, because every day of your sailing aboard the Disney Dream, whether you are at port or at sea, there will be plenty of kid-friendly activities offered for the children in your party to enjoy. On the afternoon that you embark, the children's spaces will be featuring Open Houses, so guests of all ages can walk through the kids' clubs, ask questions, and get comfortable with the Counselors and the spaces where they'll be playing throughout the cruise. Secured programming usually begins after the safety drill in the afternoon. Once you are on the ship, open the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app to check the Daily Activity Schedule for the exact hours.

Each day of your sailing, the kids' spaces will be open for the majority of the day, from morning to late at night. Select Open Houses will be scheduled throughout the sailing for opportunities for the whole family to play together. In addition to the kids' clubs, there will be crafts, game shows, Character greeting opportunities, movies playing by the pool, and more entertainment the whole family will love. Whether you choose to explore in port or stay on the ship, you'll have lots of options. It will all be listed in the Daily Activity Schedule within the app, and you'll have the chance to filter activities by age group to easily see what the children in your sailing crew might enjoy.

One handy feature of the app is the ability to "favorite" activities that interest you. If you click the heart icon next to the listing and you have notifications enabled, you'll receive a reminder about 15 minutes before the fun begins. That notification has definitely helped me when I've been eating an ice cream by the pool and lost track of time!

Susan, I'm sure that oceans of fun await your sailing crew. Cruise back to us if you have more questions. We'll be happy to help!

    Bon Voyage,
