Hi Brenda,
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! We have food allergies in my family as well, so I am happy to assist.
First, review the information for
Special Dietary Requests. Also email Special.Diets@DisneyWorld.com and let them know about your party's specific food allergies. When making your dining reservations, be sure to note the food allergies on the reservation. These notes will alert the chefs at each table-service restaurant.
When we have noted our food allergies in the past, a chef has typically come to chat with us at most restaurants. The chef will go through the menu with us and let us know what we can or cannot eat. The same is true of buffets - chefs have walked with me around the buffet to identify the foods we should avoid. At Akershus Royal Banquet Hall, the cast member who served us on our visit this summer also placed a ticket on our table that had all of our food allergies noted.
Brenda, we have enjoyed all of our dining experiences and have have nothing but glowing remarks about the chefs and cast members who have helped us navigate dining with a variety of food allergies (including peanuts and shellfish). I suggest that you try at least one
character meal. Some of my family's favorite restaurants are The Crystal Palace, Chef Mickey's, 'Ohana, 50's Prime Time Café and Coral Reef. Just be sure to make those
advanced dining reservations!
Magic, memories and Minnie Mouse hugs,
Donyell
