Hi Charlotte,
Welcome to planDisney! I know your children are not the only ones who may be nervous about experiencing an attraction for the first time. In my family, we try to think of Gazelle’s song from Zootopia (may be known as Zootropolis to Guests in the UK), “Try Everything." But of course, I understand not everyone can or wants to experience thrill rides.
Rider Switch is a great option when Guests in your party don’t meet the height requirement or don’t care to experience an attraction. However, according to
Walt Disney World Resort Property Rules, Guests under the age of 14 must be accompanied by a Guest aged 14 or older while in the theme parks. Your 10-year-old would not be able to wait outside of the attraction alone while you ride. Rider Switch would not allow you to ride an attraction twice in order to change seating arrangements with your family.
I know this isn’t the news you were hoping to hear, but I’m sure your family will enjoy your time at Walt Disney World Resort. There are plenty of
attractions and shows to experience that are just as thrilling. Since you’re planning to visit in 2024, look at the most recent announcements regarding
2024 vacations at Walt Disney World Resort. 2024 ticket and Disney Resort hotel booking opens on May 31, 2023, and the Disney Dining Plan will return in 2024 as well. I recommend you keep an eye on the
Disney Parks Blog for any future announcements!
