I am travelling with my Service Dog to Magic Kingdom and he is afraid of fireworks. Is there an indoor area I can bring him so I can see the fireworks and he won’t be so afraid?

Greetings, and a warm welcome back to planDisney, Michelle, thank you for your excellent question!

Walt Disney World Resort has an unwavering commitment to affording all Guests an enjoyable and inclusive visit, as outlined in the Services for Guests with Disabilities, and that includes our furry friends who have the important and honourable role as Service Animals. As such, your best friend has to be with you, or someone in your travel party, Michelle, at all times during your visit to Walt Disney World Resort.

Having viewed the fireworks at Magic Kingdom Park from many different locations out of doors, I can say with confidence that the acoustics are loud. In order for you to provide comfort for your pal during the fireworks, you, or someone in your travel party would have to be with him indoors at any gift shop, or First Aid location.

My best suggestion for you Michelle, keeping your special friend in mind, would be to view the fireworks from the patio in front of Gasparilla Island Grill near the marina at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, the beach area at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, or over at Disney’s Contemporary Resort observation deck which is located on the back right corner of the 4th-floor concourse. I would highly recommend booking a table at the California Grill, which offers firework views (with piped-in music from the fireworks) from select tables and you could even step out on the quiet observation deck to view the fireworks with your best friend.

Please refer to Walt Disney World Resort's Service Animal resource for information regarding service animal relief areas at the Walt Disney World Resort theme parks and important information for attractions that may be suitable in consideration of your service animal - please consult a Cast Member at an attraction entrance before boarding.

Michelle, I hope this information is helpful, and I wish you and your furry friend a wonderful visit to Walt Disney World Resort.

Best Disney wishes from a fellow Canadian ~ Jacqueline
