Travelling Sept.Bringing my Daughter and my granddaughters Got my tickets, parks reserved BUT I'm NOT a smartphone owner! I use my laptop at home, and only have a basic nokia for calls/texts thats it.Have i no chance in the parks with the new genie ?

    Hey howdy hey, David.

Welcome to planDisney! Can you believe you have less than two months to go until your Walt Disney World Resort holiday is here? You’ll be soaring with Dumbo, braving the high seas with a crew of swashbuckling pirates, and traveling to galaxies far, far away before you know it!

Unfortunately, Disney Genie and Disney Genie+ service are only available through the My Disney Experience mobile app at this time. I understand you do not have a smartphone, but do you have an iPad you could use instead? The app can also be utilized in its full functionality, which includes making Disney Genie+ service Lightning Lane selections, on an iPad. If not, hakuna matata. I have a few tips that should help you navigate the theme parks without Disney Genie+ service or a smartphone.

    • View the theme park Guide Maps online ahead of your trip to make a general plan for your park days. You can find them on each theme park’s webpage at the bottom of the page (the link is below the embedded map). When you arrive for your holiday, pick up paper Guide Maps at the park entrances. They will help you find your way around.
    • Stop by one of the Guest Experience Team locations in the theme parks to find out the parade times for the day.
    • Take advantage of Early Theme Park Entry, which allows Guests of Disney Resorts Collection hotels to enter the theme parks 30 minutes early each morning. The wait times are typically much lower than they will be later in the day.
    • Take a midday break at your Resort to escape the heat and recharge, then head back to the theme parks in the evening and plan to stay until they close for the day. The crowds may thin out the later you stay into the night.
    • If you plan on visiting Magic Kingdom Park more than one day during your trip, skip the nighttime spectacular (currently Disney Enchantment) one of those nights and experience attractions instead. The wait times tend to be very short during the fireworks, so my family usually heads for Fantasyland.
    • There are digital boards with wait times posted throughout the parks. Ask a Cast Member where they are located, then check them often to see which attractions have lower wait times.
David, I wish I had better news to share, but I hope these tips help you have a wonderful experience. Remember, you’re going to The Most Magical Place on Earth, and there’s nothing better than that!

    Enjoy your holiday,
