Hi! We are travelling in Sept with (2) 4 yr olds. Have reservations for Luau and Hoop Dee Doo (couldn't get BBQ). We want to keep only one - what is best for that age? Appreciate your help! love your panel - has been so helpful in my planning!

    Hi Colleen!

The Hoop Dee Doo Revue and Spirit of Aloha Show are great dinner shows and a fabulous way to end a perfect Disney Day.  If I had to pick between the two for a family with children your kids' ages, I would vote for the the Luau at the Polynesian Resort.  In fact, my family just returned from our most recent Disney adventure, and included an evening at Spirit of Aloha this trip.  My boys (ages 5 and 7) had a wonderful time watching the show and learning to hula.  They were absolutely mesmerized by the "fire-eating dude" (that is their name for him, rather than his official title) that ended the show, as was the entire audience!  During the family-style meal, your clan will dine on delicious pineapple coconut bread, tropical salad, ribs, baked chicken, rice and veggies.  Dessert is a signature chocolate "volcano delight."  Soft drinks, beer and wine are also included.

The Hoop Dee Doo is a vaudeville-esque, country-western musical review.  The show consists of a number of funny slap-stick-style acts and musical numbers.  It is hysterically funny, but in my opinion, some of the humor might be lost on young children.  The food is great (ribs, fried chicken, honey bread, mashed potatoes and strawberry shortcake), but I would save this dinner show for a return trip when your kids are a bit older to ensure they enjoy it as much as you do!

    Have a wonderful vacation!
