We are travelling from Saskatoon SK Canada and are planning a Disney trip to Disneyland Christmas Dec 2023. How soon in advance can we reserve the parks? We have to buy plane tickets at least six months in advance and expect to book the hotel as well.

    Hi there, Cheryl!

Looks like you have an extra magical holiday heading your way this year. How exciting! The Disneyland Resort is absolutely stunning in December, with so many seasonal treats and activities.

I understand needing to plan as far ahead as possible, especially when traveling internationally! While you can purchase theme park tickets and make hotel reservations now, you've got a little bit of a wait to make park reservations. Disneyland Resort theme park reservations are typically available 120 days in advance. At the moment, the calendar has almost reached the end of June...so it will likely be August when you can start making your reservations.

But here's a happy thought, Cheryl: if you've purchased park tickets and linked them to your Disney account you'll be ready to make reservations as soon as they're available. While days around Christmas will get filled up eventually, you should be able to make reservations 120 days out. For example, Memorial Day weekend in the U.S. is typically extremely busy at the parks, but reservations are still available right now. So just keep a close eye on that Theme Park Reservation Availability calendar! Personally, I like to set alarms on my phone to remind me of important dates (so I'm not late!) when we're planning our trips.

While we're talking about important dates, another one to watch is 60 days prior to your vacation. That's when you'll be able to make dining reservations! Most reservations open around 6 AM EST so you'll want to get up bright and early on those days. Having a peaceful meal is one of my favorite ways to take a break at the parks, especially during busy holidays.

You have such a fun year of planning ahead, Cheryl! If I can add any pixie dust to your plans just send me a note and I'll fly on over to help.

    Keep moving forward!
