We are travelling to orlando with our 22 month old and we are thinking about taking her to animal kingdom. Are there many attractions suitable for her age? I am also pregnant so that would  eliminate some of the attractions as well.

    Hi Lori,

I remember visiting Disney's Animal Kingdom with my daughter while she was a toddler, and I think you will find that there are many attractions that are suitable for your 22-month-old. Since your little one is probably not ready yet for the most thrilling attractions, this will work well with you being pregnant, as those are the ones that you would likely want to avoid.

One of my daughter's favorite things to do when she was little at Disney's Animal Kingdom was to take a ride on the Wildlife Express Train out to Rafiki's Planet Watch. There, she loved to explore Affection Section, where she could pet some rare breeds of animals. Your little one also might enjoy both Pangani Forest Exploration Trail and the Maharajah Jungle Trek. On both of these walking trails you can see amazing animals. It might be smart to have a stroller for your daughter, and of course for you to monitor how you feel with the walking. You can take these trails at your own pace. Also, you might both enjoy the shows at Disney's Animal Kingdom. Finding Nemo - The Musical is a colorful retelling of the Finding Nemo story including larger-than-life puppets. One attraction I can imagine that your daughter might enjoy that you might want to stay away from since you are pregnant is Kilimanjaro Safaris. This attraction takes you on a safari vehicle through the amazing habitats of many African animals; however, the ride can get bumpy. You should check with your doctor before you go to determine what types of attractions you should avoid.

I highly recommend that you take advantage of the Baby Care Center. This wonderful center is a great place to feed your toddler, change her, and just generally relax in air conditioning.

I hope that these thoughts are helpful for you, Lori. Please do not hesitate to ask if you have any further questions!
