Travelling with an older parent. Can we bring a cane that converts to a seat into the theme parks?

    Hi there Sherisse,

As someone who has traveled with my father, who has mobility issues, I can understand the concern of wanting to be able to have seating readily available for your days in The Walt Disney World Parks. Unfortunately, the rules of the parks prohibit "folding chairs" of any kind, so there is a good chance your parent will not be able to bring this type of cane.

If mobility is an issue, I highly recommend considering a wheel chair or even an ECV scooter for he/she to use for the day.  You can rent manual wheelchairs from Guest Services upon arrival and this way, a big comfy seat will be available at will throughout the day. Wheelchairs are $12.00 per day, but if you rent one for your length of stay, you can take advantage of a $2.00 per day discount.

I also want to let you know that all of the Walt Disney World parks offer lots of seating and a bench or chair is never very far away.  That said, I can understand your concern, and hope this helps!

    Best wishes,

    Amanda F.
