Travelling 18th Oct - 9th November. Can you give me any idea as to crowd levels at that time of the year and what the Weather is usually like. Have visited in Sept previously but never this late. Bearing in mind we're from Ireland, what should I pack? x

    Hi Lorna,

You have picked a perfect time to visit the Walt Disney World resort, weeks when both the temperatures and the crowds are mild. I'm planning at least two weekend visits myself during October and November because of the nice weather, small crowds and great special events.

At that time of year, the temperature usually peaks at around 80 degrees F each day, with a low in the mid-60s. The daily chances of rain also drop considerably between September and November, which is the driest month in Central Florida normally.

You will likely be very comfortable in shorts and short sleeves during the day, but you may want jeans or a light jacket in the evening. Don't forget the sunscreen! Even on days that don't seem particularly hot, the Florida sun can do lots of damage before you realize it.

You also should find light to moderate crowds throughout your visit, allowing you plenty of time to take in all the attractions at your leisure. You will be able to check out some of my favorite special events: Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party (on select nights through Oct. 31) and the Epcot International Food and Wine Festival (Sept. 19-Nov. 10).

In terms of crowds: The Halloween party, which requires a separate ticket, is more popular on Friday nights and as Halloween nears. And Epcot tends to be congested and a little rowdier on Friday and Saturday nights during the festival.

I hope that gives you some guidance for making your plans. Please feel free to check back with me if I can offer any other help.

    Enjoy!
