Hi there, we are travelling from NZ in January and want 10 days in the parks. Would it be better to buy 2 x5 day passes with parkhopper or to purchase a Magic Key? Would only booking 4/6 days in advance be a problem with? Would we possibly get locked out?

    Hiya, Angela!

Wow! You're in for a lot of magic. What a wonderful visit you are planning to The Happiest Place on Earth!

My main recommendation for any Guest from New Zealand is to seek advice from an authorized travel agent local to you. That's because they sometimes have access to tickets and vacation packages that are especially tailored to the needs of New Zealanders.

Given your situation, I would also recommend regular theme park tickets rather than Magic Key passes. That's because the regular tickets will offer more flexibility and certainty. For example, theme park reservations for regular, multi-day theme park tickets may be booked up to 180 days in advance and are usually not subject to blockout dates as the Magic Key passes are. So the odds of missing out on a park day due to lack of availability of a park reservation are far lower with a regular park ticket.

When you book your Disneyland Resort vacation, you'll generally find that the best deals are available the sooner you book. But I can understand the desire to hold off until you are ready to make your purchase. The limited number of park reservations for Magic Key holders is another reason to favor regular park tickets in that case as well.

Thanks for your question here at planDisney, Angela. I hope you will visit us again soon with any other questions you may have as you plan your visit to the Disneyland Resort!
