Travelling March 2015 with 16 mth old and 2 year old boys. Is a dining plan worth it for my husband and I? We would like to do a character dinner or dinner show, which one would be best for their age?

    Hi Lucie,

Congratulations on your upcoming family vacation!  March is a beautiful time of the year to visit with little ones.

I definitely recommend the Disney Dining Plan for your vacation.  The 2015 Magic Your Way Vacation Packages With Disney Dining Plan include 1 table-service meal, 1 quick-service meal, and 1 snack per day per person.  Your two children will not need theme park tickets and consequently will not have a dining plan of their own.  However your children will be free when dining at any of the buffet style restaurants or they may share from your plate at restaurants where you order from a menu.

I usually pick our character meals by the restaurant's proximity to our Resort hotel and the theme park in which we will be visiting.  Because most character meals are only 1 table service credit, I usually schedule one character meal per day for my family.  From my own boy's personal favorites at your children's ages I recommend considering the following character meals:

    • Akershus Royal Banquet Hall
    • Chef Mickey's
    • The Crystal Palace
    • Chip 'n Dale's Harvest Feast at The Garden Grill
    • Disney Junior Play 'n Dine at Hollywood & Vine
    • Donald's Dining Safari Breakfast or Lunch at Tusker House Restaurant

You can't go wrong with any of the character dining choices in my opinion!  Having a relaxed meal in air conditioned comfort while the characters come around and visit your table is a win-win for everybody.  In fact, even when my hubby and I vacation in Walt Disney World without our children we always enjoy having some character meals.

    Have a MAGICAL vacation!

    Blessings,
    Brenda ºOº
