Hi Judith,
I'm so excited for your family to be able to experience the magic of a Walt Disney World Resort vacation together! I, too, am a mom of a child with autism, and I'd be happy to share some tips with you.
If you're planning an August visit, I'd first encourage you to look into all of the amazing
Disney Resort hotels and choose the one that feels the most magical to you. They all offer amazing themes, convenient locations, fun recreation, and
lots of great perks like free transportation and Extra Magic Hours, plus you'll find one to fit every budget. As for activities, depending on how long you'll be staying, I'd encourage you to plan at least one day at each of the four theme parks as they each have something special to offer. The all new
Toy Story Land will be open at Disney's Hollywood Studios, and you definitely won't want to miss that! In addition, don't forget that you are able to make
advanced dining reservations 180 days before you arrive, so now is the perfect time to make plans for some fun and delicious meals!
Since you mentioned that you have a child with autism, Judith, I wanted to let you know that there are some excellent
resources for Guests with a wide variety of special needs. My family has found the Walt Disney World Resort to be a wonderful vacation destination for
everyone, and I hope that you and your family have a truly magical vacation! Please let us know if you have any other questions as you're planning your trip!
