Hi Georgina, welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.
Walt Disney World does an excellent job welcoming Guests with
unique needs and tries to create Magical experiences for all of its Guests, including those with
special needs. As a momma, I completely understand how you want to make your son’s visit as comfortable as possible for him.
Service animals are welcome on property. They are defined as “a dog or miniature horse that is trained to do work or perform tasks for, and to assist, an individual with a disability.” They must remain on leash and under the control of their owners at all times.
Currently, cats are not covered under the service animal umbrella and therefore not permitted in the Parks or Resort properties. (I have a feeling it might have to do with the Big Boss being a mouse!) I know how important a pet is, and especially
one that assists your son. A
purr-fect option might be
Best Friends Pet Care, which is a Walt Disney World Resort Pet Boarding facility. I’ve visited the Center, and it looks like
nirvana for pets! They offer excellent accommodations as well as treats and activities.
Georgina, if you have any more questions, please don’t hesitate to come back.
Meow you real soon!
