Hey Caroline!
A big welcome to planDisney! Thank you for stopping by with your first question today, all about your upcoming trip to the
Most Magical Place on Earth in just a couple of days’ time, I am so excited for you! As a dad of two little Mouseketeers who still need their car seats, I completely understand the challenge of keeping everyone safe while travelling, so let’s talk car seats.
I can safely say I have read the Florida state laws about car seats at least 100 times, and yes, they are very different to what we are used to here in the UK. There are no specific locations to leave car seats at the Walt Disney World theme parks, but there are lockers available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Magic Kingdom and
EPCOT both have jumbo sized lockers which can likely fit a car seat. It is a good idea to check the measurements in advance so you can make sure the seat you pick up will fit. I have
linked to them here for you to check out.
At Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and the Disney Water Parks, the lockers are smaller and will likely not fit a full-size car seat. If you are using booster seats, these are much easier to store and should not be a problem, and you could also look into compact travel car seat options.
My top tip would be to watch a few YouTube videos on how to install US car seats before you travel. I found it surprisingly tricky, especially after a long flight, as they use a LATCH and tether system which is quite different to what we are used to in the UK. I actually ended up sending an SOS message to my American friends to talk me through it!
Whilst I may not have been able to give you the answer you were hoping for today, I hope it helps you plan your travel arrangements, Caroline. You are going to have the BEST time in the Sunshine State with your family! If you have any other vacation planning questions, please
reach out to me anytime.
See ya real soon!
