Hello! I will be travelling with my husband and my sons, 7 and 10 yo in August. We won’t take the dining plan because my skinny 10 yo doesn’t eat like an adult. We still plan to go dining at table service. What are your top affordable dining options?

    Bonjour Julie,

I’ll tell you a secret: the Disney Dining Plan is way too much food for my family too! We’ve never added it to our vacations at Walt Disney World Resort and, frankly, we’ve never missed it, in spite of the fact that we typically eat at least one table service meal every day.

If your little guy doesn’t eat that much, my first tip would be to avoid any buffet or family style restaurants during your upcoming vacation as he’d have to pay the adult price in order to dine there.

Some good news: when we visited Walt Disney World with our friends and their children, their oldest boy was 10 years old and, in spite of that, he was usually able to order off the kids menu because we were paying “out of pocket” for him.

Finally, some of my favourite table service restaurants that are affordable (at least by Disney standards) are: Sanaa at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas - Kidani Village, Kona Cafe at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, Restaurant Marrakesh at Epcot, The Plaza Restaurant at Magic Kingdom Park and 50’s Prime Time Café at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

I hope my answer helps you plan your upcoming vacation. Et n’oubliez pas que vous pouvez également nous poser des questions en français!

    Have a Magical Day,
    Lynne
