Hi! I will be travelling with my husband and 18 month old toddler, staying onsite. I wanted to ask whether you can use rider swap during extra magic hours? Thank you!

It's great to see you here today at the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Rebecca!

Extra Magic Hours are one of my favorite benefits of staying at a Walt Disney World Resort Hotel. Each day, one of the Theme Parks either opens early or closes late exclusively for the enjoyment of Resort Hotel guests! It's a great opportunity to get in a few rides on your favorite attractions with fewer guests around.

Rider Switch service is available during Extra Magic Hours but you probably won't need to use it. A lot of the attractions will have much shorter waits during this exclusive time so you'll be able to just hop in the standby line one at a time, ride the attraction, and swap out the care of your 18-month-old in the same amount of time it would take to get a Rider Switch return time. If you want to ride a really popular attraction during Extra Magic Hours, like Avatar Flight of Passage at Disney's Animal Kingdom or Seven Dwarfs Mine Train at Magic Kingdom Park, then approach the Cast Member at the attraction podium and let them know that you'd like to use Rider Switch and they'll let you know if the queue has a reached a point where they're issuing return times.

    Have a magical day, Rebecca!
