Hi, Lesley! Thanks for bringing your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.
Disability Access Service (DAS) is an accommodation that the Walt Disney World Resort offers for guests whose
disability prevents them from waiting in a typical queue environment. My son has autism, and we use Disability Access Service for him when we visit the Walt Disney World
theme parks.
If your sister wishes to see if Disability Access Service would be helpful to her, she should visit
Guest Relations upon arrival at one of the theme parks. In my experience, we were never asked to provide any documentation regarding my son's disability. Sometimes the Guest Relations Cast Members have asked us questions about my son's needs to determine what type of accommodation would be the best fit for him, but we have never had to show evidence of his disability. However, if your sister would feel more comfortable, she could certainly bring a note from her doctor documenting her needs.
If your sister will be utilizing Disability Access Service, you will want to bring everyone in your travel party to Guest Relations with her. If it is determined that Disability Access Service is a good fit for your sister, the Cast Member at Guest Relations will need to scan the
MagicBand or admission card of everyone in your party. This will allow your entire group to experience
attractions together while using Disability Access Service.
Have a magical day!
Samantha
