I am travelling with a group. The 10 yo and 12 yo kids both have iphones. Are they able to view plans and my genie day on the app with a log in? Or do the grown ups only have access to this? Thanks :O)

    Hi Pamela,

Welcome to planDisney and thank you for your question!

The My Disney Experience mobile app is the perfect way to keep track of your vacation digitally and see what’s going on around the Walt Disney World Resort. Yes, your kids can definitely use the My Disney Experience mobile app, but because they’re under the age of 18, they just need your permission.

As you allow them access, you’ll want to help them create their own My Disney Experience accounts on their phones through the Apple App Store. Once they are signed in, let’s move to your personal My Disney Experience account. You will need to add both of your kids to your “Family & Friends List”. To do this, from the home screen of the My Disney Experience mobile app, press the three horizontal lines in the lower right-hand corner, scroll to the bottom and select “My Profile”. Finally, select “Family & Friends List” and there you can add your children’s names to the list. Once they are added, you’ll want to click on their names and select “Share Planning with (insert name here)”. Then an email will be sent to them, make sure you send it to the email account associated with My Disney Experience. Help them accept the request, then all your plans should show up and mirror what’s in your My Disney Experience mobile app. This includes Disney Genie and Disney Genie+ Services.

With you sharing your plans you can allow your kids to see all the plans you have or just the ones they are a part of. As you’re continuing to plan your vacation, make sure to add them to any plans they’re involved in like your Disney Resorts Collection hotel or dining reservations.

Now that they have their own My Disney Experience accounts, you all can participate in Disney MagicMoblile Service. When you link your Theme Park tickets in the My Disney Experience mobile app, you can go a step further and add your ticket to your Apple Wallet so you don’t have to open My Disney Experience all the time. You can just wave your phone or Apple Watch in front of the Mickey turnstile or credit card machine and you’ll be all set. Super magical right!

I hope this “Bit By Bryanna” is helpful as you prepare for your vacation in April to the World’s Most Magical Celebration. If you have further vacation or planning questions, please feel free to reach out, I am always happy to help!
