We are travelling with elderly parents and our children, 6 & 9 - considering our parents will want to spend time in the hotel in the afternoons and distance from hotel to parks which Disney Resort would you recommend

    Hi Zoe,

This really depends on your budget but ideally, I would suggest that you stay at one of the three resorts which are situated on the monorail system:-

    Disney's Contemporary Resort
Disney's Grand Floridian Resort and Spa
    Disney's Polynesian Resort

It will be possible to catch the monorail to both Magic Kingdom and Epcot from any of these locations and you would need to catch a Bus to Disney's Animal Kingdom, Disney's Hollywood Studios and Downtown Disney.

I will however say that there are good transportation links from all of the resorts to the parks and your elderly parents should have no problems returning to your resort in the afternoons for a rest wherever you decide to stay.

There is a Transportation Wizard tool which I like to use on www.ourlaughingplace.com which tells you the approximate journey time and methods of transportation available from any Walt Disney World park or resort to another. This should help you to make a decision on which resort will be the best for your circumstances.

Wishing you all a magical holiday!
