Hi Jena,
Welcome back to planDisney and thank you for your question! How exciting to hear that you’re starting off your New Year at the Walt Disney World Resort!
When it comes to being in the Parks during a
runDisney race weekend, I simply suggest having a plan. Yes, there will be more guests in and around the Park, but you just need to know how to navigate it!
First, if you already have your tickets, book your
Disney Park Pass reservations. These are needed for each member of your party, for every day you’re in the Parks. If you book them now, you won’t need to wonder if they’ll be available in the coming weeks as more guests book their reservations. You can always cancel or modify them (subject to availability) as well.
Once you have your reservations booked, you’ll have somewhat of a game plan for your trip. For the race weekend, a lot of the events happen in the early morning. On those days maybe go into the Parks when they first open or sleep in a bit and stay later in the evening as other guests leave the Parks.
Finally, you asked about rental cars; having a rental is truly dependent on your party’s needs. Will you need to run errands around Orlando or pick up anything? Or do you have other places you’d like to visit while you’re in the city? If you’ll solely be focused on the Walt Disney World Theme Parks and are staying on property, a car isn’t a necessity because of Disney's
Resort Transportation. You’ll be able to get to any of the Parks, Disney Springs, and the Water Parks as needed, so no worries!
I hope this “Bit By Bryanna” is helpful as you continue to plan for your upcoming trip. If you have any other planning or vacation questions in the meantime,
please feel free to reach out, I’m always happy to help!
The Magic Is Calling,
Bryanna
