We are travelling to DisneyWorld at the end of March. Our flight is due to arrive at 3:28pm. We are staying at POR. I'd like to make a dinner reservation for Rainforest Cafe in DD. What time would be safe to make a reservation for?...6:30?...7:00?

    Hi Erika,

Congratulations on your upcoming trip!  I'm guessing you are taking Disney's Magical Express from Orlando International Airport to get to your resort.  If that's the case, you will be able to skip baggage claim at the airport (a huge time saver!) and head to the Magical Express counter, where you will catch a luxury coach to your resort.

Once you de-plane, I would allow for approximately 90 minutes to get to your resort.  (It should actually take less time, but I've allowed for traffic, walking at a moderate pace to the counter, etc.)  Once you arrive at Port Orleans, check-in and get to your room (most check-in times are 4pm so you should have yours waiting) and then head out to Downtown Disney, I would allow another 30-45 minutes to arrive.  (This includes walking from your room, waiting for a bus and the drive Downtown).  Your 6:30/7:00 reservation should be fine.

My biggest concern would be a flight delay, but I'm a bit of a cynic in this department, because I fly out of Newark in New Jersey, which was just rated the worst airport (for delays) in the U.S.!  If your plane comes in on time (or reasonably on time0, you should be fine making it to Rainforest Cafe in plenty of time.  Be sure to try the Volcano Dessert.  It's one of our favorites, and can easily feed four or more people!

    Have a wonderful vacation!
