Hi, travelling to Disneyland in August. Want to get a castle pic with my toddler infront and empty crowds. What is the best day of the week/ time for this? Magic morning or rope drop? Any other tips? Thankyou!

    Hello, Melanie,

Sleeping Beauty Castle, conceptualized 65 years ago by Disney Legend Herb Ryman, has always been a stunning photo backdrop. That is even more so with the recently-completed refurbishment of this beloved attraction. This beautifully pixie-dusted icon of the Disneyland Resort will be the perfect location to record memories with your little Mouseketeer.

My wife and I spent a wonderful, romantic weekend getaway at the Disneyland Resort just this last Summer to celebrate our wedding anniversary. To commemorate the occasion, we decided to stop for a photo in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle. We happened to be there right at park opening on a Sunday morning, a day without Magic Morning early entry. It turned out to be the perfect time! Our amazing Disney PhotoPass photographer was positioned just right for catching multiple shots with few or no other guests visible. The trick was to be slightly to the side rather than centered with the entrance of the castle. Our pictures turned out amazing! And since we had Disney MaxPass added on our park admission that day, we were able to download our photos for no additional charge!

There are lots of other places you may be interested in for photos as well. You’ll want to check out locations that some of my fellow Disney Parks Moms Panelists and I recommend. And if your little prince or princess is at least three years old, you may also be interested in a magical makeover at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique. Our youngest daughter selected The Minnie Dot Package for a recent visit. After her Fairy Godmother-in-training finished using her magic wand, we then skipped right on over to Mickey’s Toontown. There, we found a PhotoPass photographer at Minnie’s House. Our daughter twirled and grinned for several memorable photos with Minnie. It was such an amazing and memorable experience!

I hope you have a wonderful time making magical memories at the Disneyland Resort, Melanie!
