I will be travelling to Disney world as a single parent with a 2 year old, 6 year old and 7 year old. For the rider switch, can I use it to take turns riding on the rides with height restrictions with my 7 year old, followed by my 6 year old?

    Hi Dawn!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Are you and your children starting to get excited about your upcoming Disney vacation?

Disney's Rider Switch is a service where typically adult one waits with someone who either cannot or does not wish to experience an attraction while adult two enjoys the ride, then the adults switch places. According to the park supervision rule (f), children need to be supervised at all times. However "guests under the age of 7 do need to be with a person who is over 14 to experience an attraction", so technically your 7-year-old could ride a few non-enclosed attractions by their self while you waited behind the fence and watched with the six and two-year-old. (The Barnstormer, Primeval Whirl.)

Typically with rider switch, the party left behind is asked to wait outside of the attraction and is unable to enter the queue with the person who is riding. Some attractions can take up to twenty minutes to get though the queue, pre-show and the actual ride, even with a FastPass+ reservation or a rider swap pass. And most attractions that offer Rider Switch are completely enclosed. But it also doesn't hurt to talk to the Cast Member at the entrance of the attractions to see if they can somehow accommodate your family.

The good news is there are over 120 shows, experiences and rides that everyone in your family can experience together, so you won't have to worry about logistics all day or letting your babies out of your sight.

I hope this helped a bit, Dawn, and We'll See You Real Soon!
