    I will be travelling to Disney World on Oct 17th, 2016 with a handicapped person who requires a wheelchair. She can get in and out for rides however. Anything we should know ahead of time? She will only ride milder rides.

    Hi Denise!

    Thanks for your question. I have a special needs adult son who also can transfer between his wheelchair and rides. The first thing we do when we get to the Parks is stop by Guest Services to request a Disabilities Access Service Card. This is a card that will give us a return time to a Ride or Attraction of our choosing based on current wait times. It is a fantastic way to avoid long lines, which are difficult for him to tolerate. We simply show up to the Ride or Attraction and show a Cast Member our card. Once we are finished with our first choice, we can visit kiosks around the Park and request another one. We can continue to do this for as long as we are in the Park. It is a lifesaver for us!

    And one more thing...be sure your whole group is with you when you visit Guest Services. Anyone who wants to be included on the pass must be there in person.
