Welcome to planDisney, P! Thank you so much for bringing your question to us. How exciting that you’re planning a seven-day visit to
Walt Disney World Resort! With everyone in your party, it’s wonderful that you’re thinking ahead about how to make your trip both fun and comfortable for everyone. I’d be delighted to help you plan which parks to visit and which attractions will create the perfect balance of magic, excitement, and relaxation for your family.
A good seven-day plan could start with arrival day as a rest and explore day. Use that time to settle into your resort or visit
Disney Springs for a nice dinner. The next day, begin with Magic Kingdom. It’s the most classic and magical park for all ages, and there are plenty of gentle attractions everyone can enjoy such as Pirates of the Caribbean, Jungle Cruise, “it’s a small world,” Peter Pan’s Flight, and the PeopleMover. For the heart patient in your party they may want to avoid more intense rides like Space Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, or TRON, but the 10 year old can still experience those with another adult if they’d like. Be sure to check with their healthcare provider before the trip to confirm which attractions or ride types are safe for them to enjoy.
On your third day, head to Animal Kingdom, which is naturally calmer and full of animal encounters and shows. Kilimanjaro Safaris, Festival of the Lion King, Finding Nemo and Na’vi River Journey are all great picks.
The fourth day can be a rest day. Enjoy the pool, have a character breakfast, or simply explore your resort. On the fifth day, plan for EPCOT, which offers plenty of space and low intensity attractions like Spaceship Earth, Living with the Land, The Seas with Nemo & Friends, and Gran Fiesta Tour in Mexico. I would suggest skipping the more thrilling rides like Test Track and Guardians of the Galaxy.
Hollywood Studios fits nicely on the sixth day, though this park has more thrill rides overall. Stick to family friendly shows and attractions like Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway, Toy Story Mania, the Frozen Sing-Along, and Beauty and the Beast Live on Stage.
The seventh day can be flexible. Repeat your favorite park, or spend part of the day relaxing before heading home.
When traveling with someone who has a heart condition, it’s best to avoid rides labeled as thrill, high-speed, or those with big drops or intense motion. Slow boat rides, shows, and character experiences are generally fine, but it’s always wise to check attraction signs or talk to a Cast Member for guidance.
Finally, pacing is everything. Start early when it’s cooler, take breaks indoors or in shaded areas every hour or so, and consider mobile ordering food to minimize standing. If you stay on Disney property,
Early Theme Park Entry helps you enjoy the most popular rides before crowds build. Purchasing Lightning Lane Passes for parks like Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios can also help reduce wait times.
P, it sounds like your upcoming Disney vacation will be filled with just the right mix of fun and relaxation. With thoughtful planning, gentle attractions, and time to rest built into your stay, you can all enjoy a magical experience together. No matter when you visit, there’s always something special to discover. Thank you for visiting planDisney with your question. I hope your trip is filled with laughter, comfort, and countless moments of Disney magic you’ll treasure for years to come!
