    We will be travelling to Disney World in August 2012 as part of a group of 8 with kids ages ranging from 7-13. We would like to know if there is anything special (dining/experiences) we can take advantage of for being a larger group?

    Congratulations on your upcoming Walt Disney World vacation!

    The former Grand Gatherings program for guests of 8 or more traveling together is discontinued as of the end of January 2012. You'll still be able to link your resort reservations together however this is now done through the regular vacation packages phone line at (407) 939-7675.

    There are many fabulous experiences to enjoy as a larger group, now available to all guests of Walt Disney World. A special experience formerly only available to Grand Gatherings but now available to everyone, is the Pirates and Pals Fireworks Voyage. This is one of my all-time favourite experiences. It's a perfect "last night of vacation" fun way to go out with a bang - literally!

    Many other great special Tours and Experiences lend themselves well to groups.
    One of my personal favourites that's great for kids of all ages is the Behind the Seeds tour at Epcot's Living with the Land attraction. This affordable tour is a great chance to slow the pace of the day and enjoy some fascinating, educational 'down-time!'

    When it comes to dining in a large group, you'll want to begin your reservations online as soon as you reach 180 days ahead of your trip to ensure availability for your party size. We traveled ourselves as a party of 8 just last month and the kids & adults in our party really enjoyed dining on wood-fired oven pizzas at Via Napoli in Epcot.
