Hi there. I will be travelling to Disney this week. Just saw the information about the Dessert Party during Illuminations at Epcot. Would this event be acceptable for a 6 year old to attend? Will there be places to sit, or standing only? Thanks!

Hello Jennifer!  Thanks for asking your question here on the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

Because this event is so new, I have not yet had the opportunity to try it out for myself.  I have, however, done quite a bit of research and had some friends attend the first Sparkling IllumiNations Dessert Party.  As of right now, there is not a place to sit during the special event which runs Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 7:45-9:20 pm.  There are tall cocktail tables set up that you can set your sweet treats down on while eating but the tables are tall so small children cannot reach.  Because the party is so new, this may change due to feedback from the first night but we will have to wait and see.  It is absolutely acceptable for children to attend the party.  The price for children is $29 and the price for adults is $49.  If you head over to the disneyfoodblog.com there is a review of the party and you can see some pictures of the desserts.  If you are considering attending, head over there first and make sure the treats would be something your child would enjoy.

Have a wonderful vacation at Walt Disney World.

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
