I will be travelling to Disney in October with my 16 month old! she sleeps in a dark room so I was wondering if I should bring my own black out shade for the bedroom window? or do the curtains block out the light well? thank you!

Hello Lindsay and thanks for bringing such a great question to us here at the Disney Parks Moms Panel.
Oh my goodness Lindsay your dear families magical October Disney vacation is awaiting for you to just Fall right into it next month and I can just imagine how excited you must be feeling about visiting Walt Disney World Resort this coming Autumn.  I know that for me it's my most favourite time of the yEar!
Apart from waking up each day within the heart of the magic there are so many Reasons to stay in a Walt Disney World Resort Hotel and in my own past experiences of staying within the various levels of Walt Disney World Resort Hotels from Value to Deluxe and during all 4 seasons of the yEar I think I can happily say that the majority of rooms I've encountered do indeed benefit from curtains or drapes which block out a good amount of light thus assisting with plenty of restful sleep and comfortable family sleeping arrangements.
However I would say that if your little Princess is a very light sleeper and really does require the total blocking out of all light to gain sleep then possibly it may be a good idea to pack a travel blackout shade for her comfort.
After all during a Disney vacation nobody wants to be either Sleepy or Grumpy because they'd just rather be Happy!
    Magical wishes,
    ~ Jane
